The Best Ever Mushroom Burger Patty

INGREDIENTS:-
- 200g mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 pods garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup mint leaves, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 3/4 cup steel cut oats
- 3/4 cup bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp water
- Oil for frying
INSTRUCTIONS:-
- Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the onion, mushrooms and garlic. Sauté until the mushrooms turn tender.
- Add salt, cumin, pepper and chilli powder, and stir until well-combined.
- Continue to sauté for about 3 minutes or until the mushrooms turn golden-brown.
- Allow the mixture to cool before transferring to a large mixing bowl.
- Stir in the oats, bread crumbs, mint leaves and Italian seasoning. If required, add 1-2 tbsp of water and mix well to form a patty mixture that holds together.
- Scoop a heaping tablespoon of the mixture and make round balls, then press to flatten them and make patties.
- Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Gently place the patties and fry on both sides until crisp and golden-brown.
- Transfer the patties to a plate lined with paper towel to absorb excess oil.
- Assemble into a burger or serve as is with your desired dipping sauce.
